On my way home, from Louisiana and back to Minnesota, I decided to check my slack from Microsoft. Slack is a messaging type of program used for business. You can also share large files on there. This is how Microsoft communicates with the partners. Well, I noticed the Deepwellbridge channel (which only has me and 8 other MS employees) had a message. But because I was on the plane I couldn’t read it yet.
I land and check it… lo and behold! Both my brand new Huge map and my updated Chronicles of Clo map have passed! The new Clo map will go live tomorrow (January 4th, 2022). That’s an easy one. It will have a price drop to around 3$ in America, new voice for the father, and the multiplayer-friendly changes I made.
But when should I publish Huge? Now, I prayed and thought about this long and hard. It usually takes 6 weeks for MS to finish testing your map on all of the devices. I was expecting them to finish it by February. But they finished it in record time. This means they love the map! If I wait too long to publish it, the January window of kids with too much money on their hands will close. Also, MS might forget about my map. It’s hot on their mind now! So, I sent it to them to have it published next Tuesday on the 11th.
This is a gamble now, but such is the case with many things in working with Microsoft. They do not tell you anything about map placement until the new maps publish on Tuesday. So I have no idea if it will be featured. But even if it isn’t, this is the wave where kids buy our maps the most. So, I might get more money now than a few months from now.
Finger’s crossed I gambled correctly! I’d have it no other way. I tend to take chances. Not literally… I don’t really gamble or anything like that, but I do go all in when I set my mind to something. I’m sort of stubborn like that, a very good quality to have… if you’re praying and re listening to the Lord.
Friend. Take chances this year. Get stubborn with something godly, meaning, pray and set your mind to the things of God! If you feel like you’re stuck in a rut, do something different. Trust in the Lord. In His eyes it is never a gamble. Might take several months or years to see the works but while you are waiting… the Lord is sure to build some fruit in your.
My verse this year:
Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
